In our local chapter of StongerNC, we are very active in these key areas:
- Activism – Events such as the Woman’s March on Washing (January 2017) are fully supported by the group. We help folks make arrangements for getting to these events and making their voice heard.
- Legislation – The group is keen on promoting Progressive legislation but also voicing our anger over legislation that does not have the public’s best interest. North Carolina state legislation in December of 2016 to remove powers from the incoming Governor, Roy Cooper, is a prime example of bogus misuse of power. We arm our members with awareness of these issues on how to act on them whether it be by email, calls or visits to local, state or national offices.
- Elections – We are focused on getting more registered voters to the polls…especially in off-election years. Group members will volunteer to make calls to various call lists.
- Events – We aim to support local groups that promote a stronger and healthier community. We understand that our voices are best heard when we give back to the great community we live in.
